Hello I'm Kimberly

She take great pride in the work here, which believe exemplifies her identity as a filmmaker, photographer, journalist, and dancer.

She is a first-generation Hispanic, dedicated to telling stories rooted in compassion and the need to share narratives like her parents' in a way that is authentic to them, grants them control over their story, and is told in their language.

Driven by stories that matter, she believes empathy and visual storytelling can reshape narratives and build bridges where walls exist.

My Story

Background

She is a first-generation Hispanic woman pursuing a dual degree in Journalism and Media with Dance at Colorado State University. Her background is in broadcast journalism, starting as the executive producer of her high school's broadcast system. She's mentored others on filming and editing news packages and learned the art of storytelling. For her work at Eagle Valley Student Media, she received the Eric Benson Scholarship through the Colorado Student Media Association.

In college, she decided to continue on the video production track, taking video and media production courses. Coming from the household she did, she places a strong emphasis on cultivating empathy and compassion for others. She is deeply motivated to tell stories that defy the norm and amplify the voices of marginalized communities. Currently, she works with Colorado State University's sports broadcasting RamVision as a production specialist, serves as the student outreach impact coordinator for the ACT Film Festival, and freelances in photography and video production.
